SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – The Caribbean Hotel Association’s (CHA) annual Small Hotels Retreat & Mini Trade Show, which will be held from 18 to 20 October at Casa de Campo, affords CHA small hotels (75 rooms and under) the opportunity to participate in a series of seminars concentrating on all aspects of hotel operation, with a strong emphasis on the development of marketing skills, pertaining to the small hotel niche.
“CHA created this event after it became apparent that our small hotel members had needs separate and apart from larger properties,” said John Jefferis, CHA president.
Seminars will be conducted in a “round table” format, with a maximum of 12 people in each group , which is considered more conducive to informal, but structured and lively discussions. This year’s program also includes a general session on how to get the most out of CHA Marketplace, which is planned for 12 to14 January, 1997 in Cancun.
The Mini-Trade Show will exhibit the goods and services of CHA Allied members willing to tailor their products and pricing to smaller properties. Approximately 50 to 60 table-top displays are expected. A post-Retreat tour of small hotels in the Dominican Republic will also be arranged.
Those wishing to attend should register before 15 September. For further information and registrations, contact CHA Meetings Dept in Miami, telephone (305) 443-3040, fax (305) 443-3005.
