The new director general for Occidental Hotels, Gabriel Felip, during a farewell party held at the Embajador, stressed the advantages of investing in the Dominican Republic. Occidental has roughly 10% of the total number of hotel rooms in the country.
Gabriel in his farewell, spoke of the recent additions such as the expansion of the Hotel Occidental Playa Real in Juan Dolio, and the opening of the Occidental Flamenco in Punta Cana planned for next year. The chain has more than 2,500 rooms in the Dominican Republic. He said some 135,000 visitors stayed at Occidental properties last year.
Gabriel Felip, who has had an almost 10 year career in the Dominican Republic, replaces Jose Amat, who died this year in Madrid.
