Japanese tourists should be expected

According to a report in the Listin Diario by Tulio Navarette, the ambassador for Japan, Mitsuhiro Nakamura, says that the government is heavily promoting the D.R. in his country, and thousands of Japanese tourists could be expected to visit the D.R. for its beaches and colonial heritage. He also mentioned traditional Dominican hospitality. More than 10 million Japanese travel abroad every year and he says that Jamaica has attracted thousands of them, and he would like to see them coming here. He said that there is some knowledge of the country in Japan as a result of the Dominican baseball players that have joined teams in Japan.
