The 72-year old Canadian woman who was the second to test positive for Covid-19 in the Dominican Republic has had her first negative test. She had arrived on 22 February via La Romana International Airport for a vacation at a resort in Dominicus on a flight from Toronto, Canada. Public Health Minister Rafael Sánchez Cárdenas gleefully made the announcement of her expected recovery in the 1 April 2020 press briefing on Wednesday. A second negative is needed for the woman to be released from the Ramon de Lara Hospital at the San Isidro Air Base.
