With 90% of the media coverage dedicated to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, people tend to forget that we are very close to hurricane season in the Caribbean. Yes, just one issue after another. The good forecasters at the University of Colorado are saying that there could well be four major hurricanes this year; hurricanes in the three to five places in the Saffir-Simpson scale.

The season that officially that begins on 1 June and ends on 30 November is expected to have as many as 16 named storms, with as many as eight of these being hurricanes. The university forecasters are also saying that there are good possibilities that some of the storms could well reach landfall in the United States.
