Grupo Puntacana announced it is backing the free ayuda.do telemedicine and home healthcare service that is available to residents all around the country. The program is open to donations and is adding volunteers who want to offer free telemedicine consultations.
Frank Rainieri, president & CEO of Grupo Puntacana, said that the service offers medical assistance to high-risk individuals from the comfort of their homes and with highly trained medical personnel.
Rainieri said he is backing the effort by Dr. Eduardo Read and the medical aid platform contributing four vehicles that will offer medical services free to persons sick with flu, fever, or suffer from a special condition such as hypertension or diabetes, or who are chronic patients and are staying at home.
The telephone numbers for the service in La Altagracia province are 809 455-0555 (Higuey) and 809 466-9988 (Punta-Cana-Bavaro).
The ayuda.do internet initiative offers virtual medical consultations and follow-up for chronic patients, electronic prescribing and home delivery of medicines for diabetes and hypertensive patients.
Ranieri said the backing of the program is part of “The La Altagracia Plan.” He explained this involves the Ministry of Public Health, several companies that are donating medicines, Dr. Eduardo Read and the Puntacana Group.
