There is new normalcy in the air. Mass is again being heard at churches all around the country. Roman Catholic Church goers attended mass for the first time since the 20 March lockdown on this Sunday, 7 June 2020. The Santo Domingo Cathedral held a single mass at noon.
People kept a distance and families kept to themselves on pews. The media reports a considerable number of parishioners attended the first mass.
The religious services were authorized in the second phase of the de-escalation ordered by the authorities, complying with a series of protocols to prevent the spread of the virus wearing face masks and not that churchgoers meet the new 30% of the church capacity rule and keep physical distance.
At the entrance of the churches there was sanitizing alcohol for hands and shoes and a person who oriented them on where to sit.
The new rules are in effect until 17 June, when the percentage will be increased to 50%.
