
Casa de Campo announces it reopens for business on day one of the official restart of the tourism industry in the Dominican Republic.
The La Romana golf mecca is unfolding a program named “Casa Cares.” Andrés Pichardo, president of Casa de Campo Resort & Villas, says the company has invested in new materials and equipment, and trained its staff for the safe reopening. He says the protocols will ensure that each area keeps to the highest prevention standards. The resort is implementing new technologies for more automation to ensure the safety of guests and residents in the community.
The announcement follows news from the Punta Cana group that they are reopening the Westin Puntacana and the Four Points by Sheraton and Tortuga Bay hotels by 1 July 2020.
The executive vice president of the National Hotel & Tourism Association (Asonahores), Andres Marranzini has forecast that around 30% of hotels around the country will be ready to reopen for the 1 July date. There are an estimated 100,000 hotel rooms in the Dominican Republic.
