School children must bring masks, gel and wipes

The Association of Private Schools (AINEP) has announced that children need to be sent to school with two face masks each, hand cleaning gel and sanitizing wipes to clean their working area. The protocol is in the new General Guidelines for the “Return to Classes: for the 2020-2021 School Year” agreed upon by AINEP. The mask requirement is mandatory for all students older than three years. Teachers are being asked to use a facial visor and protective eyewear during school hours.

The schools have separated areas for students and others for teachers and administrative personnel. Parents are being asked to leave the children at the school door, and avoid entering the school premises. Schools are installing supervised handwashing stations close to the entryway into the school. Schools will be testing for temperature.

The Ministry of Education has announced the school year will start on 24 August 2020.
