Rains are forecast

The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) is forecasting rainstorms, the effect of a tropical wave and trough that are moving here from the east. Rains are forcast for the northwest, north, northeast, border provinces and the Central Mountain Range. In Greater Santo Domingo, hot noontime weather is forecast – from highs of 33ºC to 35ºC to lows of 23ºC to 25ºC in the early morning hours of Wednesday, 22 July 2020

Moreover, Onamet is calling Dominicans to watch a weather system that is still east of the Lesser Antilles but is moving on a track that could affect the Dominican Republic. The unnamed storm system has a 60% chance of becoming a hurricane, tweeted Gloria Ceballos, director of Onamet.
