
President-elect Luis Abinader tweeted on Monday, 3 August 2020 that he is choosing economist Limber Cruz for Minister of Agriculture starting 16 August 2020. Limber is a graduate in economy from the Pontifical Catholic University Madre y Maestra with post-graduate studies in international management in a Mexican university.
In government, he has experience working in the Economic Studies Department of the Central Bank and the Center for Promotion of Exports (Cedopex). He is one of the founders of Grupo M, the large free zone manufacturing conglomerate. He is highly regarded for his excellent organizational ability. He is recognized for his contributions to the development of the Codevi, the Grupo M binational project located on the border between Dajabón and Ouanaminthe in Haiti.
At the time of his naming, he was dedicated to the plantain and yuca farms in La Vega. His family plantations are considered the largest in the central region.
