Former government officers banned from leaving the country until their divisions are audited?

As of 17 August 2020, no former government officer is authorized to leave the country. The Abinader administration has ordered audits at the government bodies that need to be presented before government officers in the Medina administration can leave the country.

This is a first for Dominican government. It falls under the announcement that accountability in government would gets its start from day one in the Abinader government.

Update: The news of the exit ban for former government officials has not been announced by the government.
