President Luis Abinader named Serafin Canario de la Rosa as the general manager of the Punta Catalina Thermal Power Plant (CTPC). He replaces economist Jaime Aristy Escuder, who had been in the position since 2017.
The Punta Catalina plant is the largest power generation plant in the country. The coal-fired plant has twin units that contribute an average of 720 megawatts to the National Interconnected Electric System (SENI), or around a third of the government supplied power.
