
Public Health Minister Plutarco Arias was at the Galeria 360 shopping center to open a temporary Covid-19 testing station. The PCR testing station is part of the Ministry of Public Health’s new effort to raise awareness among Dominicans on the importance of early testing and preventive measures to avoid the spread of Covid-19.
The Minister of Public Health, Plutarco Arias calls for everyone to maintain the preventive measures – handwashing, facial masks, and physical distancing. He said the Galeria 360 activity is part of a community outreach plan. Visitors to the plaza and employees are receiving recommendations regarding the virus.
Dr. Arias said that the test is free of charge and will be available to the population at the shopping center for 15 days, that is, through 23 November 2020. Test results are available in 36 hours.
The administrator of Galería 360, Fernando García said that the mall is cooperating as a way to keep public spaces free of Covid-19 and so that people feel safe. He said that it is an honor to be able to collaborate with the health authorities. It is the first time that PCR tests are carried out at a Dominican shopping mall. Galeria 360 gathers 167 commercial establishments — stores, banks, restaurants, health and government offices. More than 600 employees work directly and indirectly at the center.
