(GSafety) and Yutong Bus Co., Ltd. in the Dominican Republic.

The senators gave presentations on their provinces, highlighting investment and business opportunities in agriculture, tourism, and transport. The Chinese business people presented their companies and how they could work together with the Dominican senators and their communities to encourage more business.

Chinese Ambassador Zhang Run was the host for the gathering. He said the meeting will make it much easier to channel the opportunities for cooperation between both countries.

“This embassy always supports and encourages Chinese companies to develop projects according to the local laws and international rules to promote this Caribbean country’s socioeconomic development,” said the Chinese ambassador.

President Luis Abinader has repeatedly said that the Dominican Republic’s priority is having the best relations with the United States, the country’s leading trade partner, and thus investments in strategic areas of energy, ports and telecommunications have restrictions. Nevertheless, President Abinader has said that there is a wide range of other business opportunities open to Chinese companies in the Dominican Republic and welcomes these.
