
The Center for Emergency Operations (COE) announced the traditional Christmas and New Year safety operations for 23 December 2020 at 2pm to 25 December at 6pm and 30 December 2020 at 2pm to 1 January 2021 at 6pm
For the most part, the effort is to assist the thousands that commute from main cities to vacation and visit friends and family.
Minister of Public Health Plutarco Arias called for Dominicans to not let down their guard and keep up the preventive measures to contain the spread of Covid-19.
The COE says 39,324 persons, including relief workers, physicians, paramedics, military, police and rescue specialists, are on call for the holiday safety operations. He said there will be 1,121 first aid fixed and mobile points set up. 183 ambulances and three military helicopters are assigned to the holiday operations.
