The Toros del Este became the first to qualify for the Professional Winter Baseball Championship semi-finals. The Leones del Escogido didn’t make it easy for them, though. The game went to the top of the 11th inning, when the Toros del Este pulled through a four homerun attack.
The standing is Toros del Este, Aguilas Cibaeñas, Gigantes del Cibao, Estrellas Orientales. The Leones del Escogido trails by only three games and the Tigres del Licey by 4 games and a half. The regular season ends on 23 December 2020.
Lidom president Vitelio Mejía said that if there is a tie in the six-team standing, the Bye system will be used. It is a system where the general run average determines the slots in the semifinals. The semifinals will determine the winner of the Dominican championship this year.
