Former government Covid-19 medical advisor’s father dies of the virus

The lead medical advisor on Covid-19 during the Medina administration, Amado Alejandro Baez announced his own father passed away due to complications after catching the disease. Baez had served as director of the Covid-19 emergency committee during the past Medina administration.

Dr. Alejandro Emilio Baez Van-Epps died on Saturday, 2 January 2021 of health complications after contracting the virus, his son tweeted.

Baez explained that his father had struggled to survive the virus for four weeks. In his tweet, Báez shared the anguish of seeing his father’s health fail and the short funeral.
