
President Luis Abinader has created the Agricultural Cabinet to propose and outline consensual agricultural policies to stimulate the national agricultural sector’s development and guarantee food security. Executive Decree No. 65-21 dated 6 February 2021 establishes the new multi-sectoral participatory body. The Agricultural Cabinet seeks to foster new efficiency in production, marketing and export of food products and overall improve quality of these.
The Agricultural Cabinet will be presided over by the President of the Republic and integrated by:
Ministry of Agriculture, whose head will serve as executive director.
Ministry of Economy, Planning and Development
Dominican Agrarian Institute (IAD).
Dominican Institute of Hydraulic Resources (INDRHI).
Agricultural Bank of the Dominican Republic (BAGRICOLA).
National Institute for Price Stabilization (INESPRE).
General Livestock Agency (DIGEGA).
Export and Investment Center of the DR (ProDominicana).
The Agricultural Advisor of the Executive Branch.
