The National Weather Office (Onamet) reports that the heavy rains will continue on Wednesday, 10 March 2021. A passing weather system has caused flooding with damages to dwellings and crops and power interruptions primarily in the central Cibao region. The media reported on the major damages to a large dwelling built beside a river in La Terracita, Santiago where five families lived.
The Center for Emergency Operations (COE) increased to 13 provinces the alert for heavy rains. These provinces are: La Vega, Monseñor Nouel, San Cristóbal, Hermanas Mirabal, Montecristi, Monte Plata, Hato Mayor, Duarte and Sánchez Ramírez.
