Hato Mayor senator Cristóbal Castillo removed the bill he had submitted to the Senate for amendments to the Los Haitises National Park limits. Environment Minister Orlando Jorge-Mera warned the Senate that the proposed changes to the Los Haitises National Park boundaries were unacceptable. Jorge Mera reminded the legislators that the Los Haitises National Park is a reservoir for 25% of the Dominican drinking waters. The area falls under Protected Areas Law 202-04.
