The Senate approved on 18 May 2021 the presidential request for a 45-day extension of the National State of Emergency from 30 May through 13 July 2021. The bill now passes to the Chamber of Deputies for approval.
The ruling Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) is the majority in the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies.
Once approved in Congress, the bill will return to the Presidency for publishing and enactment.
