A feature in El Caribe on 21 May 2021 asks for news on the development of the investigations into fast-accumulated early wealth of a young politician who declared a multimillion fortune when presenting her statement of worth after taking office as an Abinader government minister. It is the case of Kinsberly (Kimberly) Taveras, who was removed from the position while the investigation is ongoing. In a few years she went from rags to riches during her years as mayor of a small town to become a major supplier of garbage collection services to other municipalities.
