
The Dominican Armada (Navy) successfully intercepted a 23-foot speedboat loaded with a cargo of 279 “bricks” of what is suspected to be cocaine. At press time, the National Forensics Institute had not released findings on what was determined or the weight of the seized contraband. Four Colombians were arrested. All this happened off the coast of Bayahibe, close to the Parque Cotubanamá (Parque del Este). This is just the latest in a series of important drug busts that have seen foreigners as well as Dominicans arrested and sent to the Justice Department for indictment.
