
Judge Kenya Romero of the National District lower court said she will announce coercive measures for those accused in the Operation Medusa case on 13 July 2021. The judge has heard prosecutors charges and defense arguments in the attorney general office corruption case (Operation Medusa). Prosecutors of the Administrative Anti-Corruption Prosecution (Pepca) accuse former attorney general Jean Alain Rodríguez and seven others of being part of a major corruption network at the Attorney General Office from 2016 to 2020. The judge will announce pretrial coercive measures on Tuesday, 13 July. The judge needs to announce whether those charged in the corruption case will receive bail, domiciliary arrest or will be sent to pretrial detention as the case unfolds in court.
