Spokesman for the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), Gustavo Sanchez called for the Procurement Agency (DGCP) to cancel the tender called for the construction of Line 2-C of the Santo Domingo Metro. The Metro Office (Opret) has filed a tender for more than RD$2 billion taking advantage of the exception clause during the National State of Emergency in effect through 26 August 2021. Sanchez says the extension of the Metro does not qualify as emergency contracting.
The Opret requests the approval for contracting the construction of the Line 2-C from Maria Montez Station at Duarte High Km 9 to Los Alcarrizos in northern Santo Domingo.
