The Chamber of Deputies accepted that the Penal Code be discussed at the same time by senators and deputies. The bilateral committee will now gather members of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate.
The Penal Code had passed in the Chamber of Deputies, but it did not pass in time in the Senate and the bill expired and now needs the approvel of both the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate.
To save time, the Senate had proposed the bilateral committee, but this had been initially rejected by the Chamber of Deputies.
On 31 August 2021, the deputies authorized the motion and are sending 18 deputies for the discussions.
