The Specialized Corps for Land Border Security (Cesfront) reported seizing 110,000 units of cigarettes abandoned inside a vehicle left at a gas filling station in Dajabón on Tuesday, 31 August 2021.
Cesfront C-2 agents confiscated the blue Honda SUV, license plate number G498901 at the gas station Los Cibaos, in the municipality of Partido, Dajabon province. The vehicle was abandoned and handed over by employees of the station.
Cesfront agents found nine boxes of Capital cigarettes of 50 packs of 10×20 each and two boxes of Jaisalmer cigarettes inside the vehicle.
Cigarette contraband is a common occurrence on the border with Haiti.
