Vladimir Guerrero hit his 40th homerun and joins rare father-son club

Major League Baseball celebrated the 40th homerun by Dominican young baseball star Vadimir Guerrero Jr. 22-year old Guerrero batted the homerun in the Toronto Blue Jay’s 8-0 smashing win over the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium. This season, Vlad Jr. is third in the Majors in home runs behind Salvador Perez (41) and Shohei Ohtani (43).

On Sunday, 5 September, Vlad Jr became the youngest Blue Jays hitter to reach 40 homers and one of just 10 father-son duos to hit 40 home runs in MLB history.

Vlad Sr. had hit 42 home runs when he was 24 with the Montreal Expos and reached the 40-homer plateau once more the next season, totaling 449 in his Hall of Fame career.
