Late last week, President Luis Abinader attended dinner at ModernHaus Soho Hotel while in New York City. It was apparently a last minute thing and the guest list included former US President Bill Clinton. The story of the dinner party made the New York Post. Remarks were promptly to follow with speculation regarding if this was an event paid by Dominican taxpayers. Abinader was in New York for the 76th UN General Assembly.
Homero Figueroa, spokesperson for the Presidency, was prompt to reply. He said the Dominican President was a guest of the event, not the host of the rooftop bash for 40 persons at Jimmy, the upstairs dining area of the ModernHaus.
