Tourism Minister David Collado signs agreement to promote cruise ships from Florida

Tourism David Collado has reached new agreements with representatives of tour operators, air transport agencies and cruise ships based in Florida to strengthen relations and attract more tourists to the Dominican Republic. Eight agreements allow for vacation package promotions and marketing campaigns to promote US travel to the DR.

“Florida is a highly important market for our country, and the agencies that operate here are vital to continue improving the flow of tourists from the United States to our country,” said Collado, as reported by the Ministry of Tourism.

Minister Collado informed that the Ministry will continue to work closely with the cruise industry so that more cruise ships make stops in Dominican ports.

Collado explained to the different agencies that the Dominican Republic is the only destination in the region where 100% of the tourism sector employees are already fully vaccinated with two doses. He highlighted the low spread rate in tourist areas, making the country a safe destination for travel.

Collado met with representatives of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA), Gool Travel, PunCana, Best Deal Vacations, Top Vacations, HotelBeds, Risa Travel, among others.

Minister Collado was in Miami after completing a three-day work agenda in New York City. He also met with Dominican authorities in that city and hosted a reception for New York State travel agents and tour operators.
