The National Statistics Office (ONE) announces that ONE staff members are visiting a selection of households as of Tuesday, 19 October 2021, to update data for the National Multipurpose Household Survey (Enhogar 2021).
Willy Otáñez, in charge of the Department of Surveys of the ONE, called on the population to welcome those who call at the sampling of homes to collect information. He said the men and women are properly identified, with ID cards and uniforms. The staff is fully vaccinated and will be wearing masks and keeping to sanitary protocols.
The Enhogar 2021 looks into prevalence of food insecurity in the population and vaccination coverage against Covid-19; functioning or disability. There are also inquiries as to the educational and economic characteristics of individuals, time spent on domestic work, and access and use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs).
Otáñez says collecting accurate information will allow authorities and agencies to design and implement policies of state and national interest and to make good decisions in education, economic, social and health matters. “Good data, good policies,” he emphasized.
The Enhogar is a national survey that has been conducted since 2004. This year the data will be collected over a period of two months, from 19 October to 19 December 2021.
