Former long-time president of the Senate and secretary general of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), Reynaldo Pared Perez passed away on 28 October 2021. He was 65 years old. In March 2020 he was diagnosed with cancer.
Pared Perez was president of the Senate from 2006 to 2015 and from 2016 to 2020. During those years he also served as secretary general of the Dominican Liberation Party.
El Dia reports that he died on “Thursday night in what appears to be a suicide in the bedroom of a house in Juan Dolio, where he was with his wife Ingrid Mendoza.”
