
Eight Dominican-American politicians, a Republican and a Democrat, competed for positions in the New York municipal elections on 2 November 2021. They hoped to attract the support of 300,000 Dominicans that registered to vote, the largest Hispanic community, Diario Libre reports.
The candidates were:
For the Republicans:
Edwin Rafael de la Cruz.
For the Democrats:
Carmen de la Rosa for the New York City Council District 10.
Pierina Ana Sánchez (Bronx District 14).
Oswald Feliz (Bronx District 15).
Shaun Abreu (Manhattan District 7).
Christopher Marte (Manhattan District 1).
Antonio Reynoso (Brooklyn District 34).
Amanda Farias (District 18).
