
Dr. Senen Caba will replace Dr. Waldo Ariel Suero at the helm of the Dominican Medical Association (CMD). Caba was president of the CMD from 2009-2011. The CMD has 37,998 members. The CMD is mostly active regarding physicians employed in the public health system.
Dr. Caba won the election with the backing of Dr. Suero.
Dr. Caba says among his priorities are: to work in favor of academia to bring medical residencies to public hospitals in the interior of the country; reduce the unemployment that affects physicians; the indexation of annual salaries in line with inflation; dignifying the lives of retired physicians, a more dignified and less exclusive social security system.
