The executive committee of the ruling Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) met with the participation of President Luis Abinader on Wednesday, 8 December 2021. The party members agreed that a party convention would be held in January to vote on the adapting of the party statutes to the Political Parties and Electoral Regime laws and the Constitution. The delegates agreed to allow for President Abinader to seek reelection on the party ticket in the 2024 general election.
Polls show that Abinader is the top rated Dominican politician.
