Creativity talks: Orange Economy gets a boost

It was about time that the Dominican Republic launched a nationwide effort to position Dominican creativity, already a national strength. A new public-private alliance is challenged to boost the country’s cultural infrastructure and bolster the creative industries. The creative industries are seen as a way for the Dominican Republic to embrace the country’s identity in this homogenized global world.

The Banco Popular, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs, and the Santo Domingo Institute of Technology (INTEC) have joined forces to promote the Orange Economy in the Dominican Republic. The Dominicana Creativa initiative seeks to tell the stories of the creative industries and find new ways to promote these nationwide.

The Orange Economy is today motorizing the world. It is made up by architecture, fashion, design, cultural management, gastronomy, audiovisuals, publishing, advertising, visual and performing arts, software and other technologies, arts and crafts.

A one-hour special was aired on prime time on ColorVision, Channel 9 to launch the initiative that is primarily sponsored by the Banco Popular.

The digital version of a newly released tabletop book can be unloaded.
