The 6-5 win put the Gigantes (20 games won, 16 lost) in first place of the Dominican Professional Baseball Championship. The Aguilas Cibaeñas, Tigres del Licey and Estrellas Orientales are now tied to second place, with 19 games won and 17 lost, just one position behind the first. It looks like the Toros del Este will not make the cut.
