President Luis Abinader was in the Colonial City for a meeting with Tourism Minister David Collado on small works and renovation of historical monuments in the Colonial City. The meeting was a follow up to his announcement of important investments for the historical center of the Dominican Republic. President Abinader announced RD$460 million would be invested in small works and to restore historical monuments. The total is in addition to the US$90 million loan the InterAmerican Development Bank is providing for improvements in the Colonial City
The government has yet to give details on the works that will be carried out in the Colonial City.
