Punta Cana’s Margaritaville Island inaugurated; Karisma announces hotels in Pedernales

President Luis Abinader was in Punta Cana where he attended the formal inauguration of the Margaritaville Island Reserve Cap Cana by Karisma.

During the event, Abinader also announced that the same Karisma Group would be the first to invest in Pedernales, the new tourism destination in the southwest.

During the inauguration, Jorge Feliz Germán, president of Karisma Hotels & Resorts for the Dominican Republic, confirmed that the chain will be expanding its resorts to other destinations in the country. He said Karisma will build two hotels under its Nickelodeon Hotels and Margaritaville brands in Pedernales.

“We have already confirmed our participation in Pedernales with two of our thematic brands, and we will also build a water park,” he announced.

He said that while the project is still in the planning stage. The intention is to build around 700 rooms between the two lodging establishments in a first stage.

He said the company would be developed in an alliance with the government under the Public Private Partnership Agency (DGAPP) scheme in Cabo Rojo beach area, in Pedernales. The Chamber of Deputies recently passed the Pedernales Trust for the new deals.
