The Dominican Republic is listed 17th in Trip Advisor’s 2022 top 20 trending destinations for British travelers. The trending destinations are described not necessarily as the site’s most popular destinations, but rather the ones that have seen the greatest growth in search traffic year-on-year. In the Americas, only Tulum and Playa del Carmen, Mexico; Natal and Paraty in Brazil; Aruba; Island of Hawaii; Charleston, South Carolina; and St. Martin made the cut.

“As the world returns to travel, priorities are changing, and people want more memorable experiences on their trips,” said Tripadvisor’s Steven Paganelli. “Almost three-quarters (70%) of Brits say that it’s important they ‘see new places’ when thinking about their future travel plans.”
