Total and Grupo Martí announce alliance

Total Energies (V Energy S.A.) and Martí announced on 4 February 2022 a strategic alliance with the local fuel distributor, Martí. Martí is the owner of the Sunix gas stations and Tropigas Natural propane gas operation here. The companies commit to expand commercial activities for the distribution of natural gas, fuels, lubricants, solar and other renewable energies, strengthening their joint market share leadership.

The announcement says the companies have reached a 50/50 alliance. The alliance is subject to government approval. The companies expect the alliance to be formalized during the third quarter of 2022.

There are more than 190 Sunix gas stations nationwide that will now be branded TotalEnergies.

TotalEnergies has been operating in the Dominican Republic since 2010, when it took over Shell branded fuel stations. It has more than 130 fuel stations.
