Aerodom boosts tourism and cargo operations at Santo Domingo and Puerto Plata international airports

Diario Libre interviewed Monika Infante, CEO of Aerodom (Vinci Airports) in the Dominican Republic. The executive shared what’s happening this year at the Santo Domingo and Puerto Plata international airports.

Santo Domingo. Aerodom is renovating to improve the shopping experience at the Las Americas International Airport (SDQ), the second-largest in travel passenger volume and main airport serving the capital city. The central atrium is being converted into a shopping center. Passengers after passing through Migration will have access to six restaurants and several new stores. Works will be completed in March 2022 in time for Easter Week traffic.

Puerto Plata. Puerto Plata’s Gregorio Luperón International Airport (POP) will be closed in May 2020 for 10 days for the first phase of airport improvements. The airport will be closed for maintenance and expansion works on the runway. The works will prepare the runway for larger aircraft.
