The Ministry of Public Health, in coordination with public schools, is enticing children with ice cream and sweets to motivate those 5 to 11 years old to get vaccinated. The Ministry of Public Health officially began on 14 February 2022 inoculating a target population of 1,348,033 children in this age range. The Ministry of Public Health is using the Sinovac/Coronavac vaccine (Resolution No. 00006-2022).
As reported, in the first week, 76,000 children were vaccinated. The Ministry of Public Health has opened vaccination stations in public and private schools to reach out to the small children. The vaccines for the small children are also available at regular vaccination stations in more than 1,300 locations nationwide. The vaccines are free. The children are receiving two doses. The second dose is applied after 28 days.
