
President Luis Abinader met on Wednesday, 9 March 2022 with Argentinean businessmen to discuss trade and investment. He announced agreements signed in the areas of hydrocarbons exploration (to import natural gas from Argentina), health (transplant of organs for children) and wine production practices.
The Ministry of Foreign Relations of Argentina coordinated a meeting with Argentinean business people at the presidential palace, the Palacio San Martin. During his day in Buenos Aires, President Abinader had a working lunch with Argentine President Alberto Fernandez and Argentinean First Lady at the Casa Rosada.
He also met with the president of the Chamber of Deputies of the Argentine Republic, Sergio Massa at the headquarters of the National Congress.
President Abinader is accompanied by First Lady Raquel Arbaje and his ministers of Foreign Relations Roberto Alvarez, Industry & Commerce, Victor Bisonó and the president of the Dominican Petroleum Refinery, Leonardo Aguilera.
After his agenda in Argentina, Abinader flew to Chile on the evening of Wednesday, 9 March for similar investment and trade promotion activities in Chile and to next attend the inauguration of the President-elect of Chile, Gabriel Boric Font on 11 March. In the trip to Chile, he is accompanied by Foreign Minister Roberto Alvarez.
