New flights to Porto (Portugal), Paris and Philadelphia

This summer you can fly direct from Punta Cana to Porto in Portugal. The Civil Aviation Board (JAC) announced the approval of Orbest passenger and cargo flights from Porto, Portugal to Punta Cana and return. This is the first Porto flight to the Dominican Republic. The flights will be weekly (Tuesdays) and seasonal, from 19 July to 20 September 2022.

“With the approval of these new routes, we expand the offer of international air transport services for passengers and cargo, reaffirming our commitment to maintain and strengthen the country’s air connectivity,” announced Jose Ernesto Marte Piantini, president of JAC.

The JAC last week also authorized a new route for the US carrier, Spirit. Spirit airlines, best known for its Fort Lauderdale to Santo Domingo flights, will now be flying Philadelphia to Punta Cana four times a week — Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The low-cost carrier is authorized to transport passengers and cargo between the United States and the Dominican Republic. The flights are scheduled to begin on 18 May 2022.

The Civil Aviation Board announced the authorization of Corsair to operate regularly the Paris, France to Punta Cana route and return. The flights will be from the Orly International Airport (ORY) to Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ). Corsair is a charter air operator that has again been granted permission to offer scheduled air transportation services for passengers and cargo.
