
The National Hotel & Tourism Association (Asonahores) says that occupancy levels are back to levels that were normal before the pandemic. Andres Marranzini, executive vice president for Asonahores, said that hotels on average are reporting 74.6% occupancy for the Easter holidays, similar to Easter Week occupancies in 2019, the pre-pandemic year.
Rafael Blanco Tejera, president of Asonahores, said the tourism industry continues to show solid recovery as a result of the joint efforts developed with the government.
The occupancy rates for the Easter holidays are: Punta Cana and La Romana/Bayahibe each one with 88.2% of occupation. Samaná follows with 79%, Boca Chica and Juan Dolio with 71%, Puerto Plata with 66.3% and Sosúa/Cabarete with 55%.
