Tourism Minister David Collado tweeted that the strong rebound in Canadian travel is filling the void left by the cancelled Russian and Ukranian flights. He announced that April has started strong and should be a record month. In April, 30% of the tourists are from the United States, 11 from Canada, followed by European tourists. 62% of tourist arrivals flew into Punta Cana International Airport.
