The Ministry of Tourism announced the approval of the proposal to rebuild the Fishermen’s Village on Terrenas Beach in Samaná, on the northeastern coast. Tourism Minister David Collado and senator Pedro Catrain were present when the city councilors voted “yes” to the reconstruction. The Ministry of Tourism infrastructure fund will be used to restore the beach-fronting restaurant and bar attraction.
Architect Carlos Aguilar of the architectural firm GVA donated the design for the new village. The Fishermen’s Village will be rebuilt on the site of the previous Pueblito de Pescadores that was consumed by a fire several months ago. This will be the second time the village is rebuilt after a fire.
