First Lady honors beauty salon entrepreneur Daisy Castillo de Rondon

The First Lady, Raquel Arbaje, and the Director General of the National Council for the Promotion and Support of Micro, Medium and Small Enterprises (Promipyme), Porfirio Peralta, paid tribute to Dominican hair stylist Daisy Castillo de Rondón for her outstanding career as an entrepreneur. Her Salon Daisy set new standards for beauty salons in the Dominican Republic.

During a ceremony held in the Salón Las Cariátides of the Presidential Palace, the First Lady spoke of the more than 40 years Castillo has headed business initiatives that paved the way for the success of the Dominican cosmetics and hair styling industry.

Peralta pointed out that Daisy Castillo de Rondón is one of the first Dominican businesswomen, who raised the colors of the flag of the Dominican Republic in numerous countries of Latin America and Europe.

The tribute to the renowned entrepreneur, expert in hair care and women’s beauty, was attended by her husband, former senator Iván Rondón, and her children Ninoska, Ian Alberto Rondón and Iván Amílcar Rondón.

In her words of gratitude, the expert stylist said that in life it is important to believe, to have courage, to make things happen, to educate oneself to reach the professional level, to enjoy each stage, to manage, to organize oneself, to have goals and to work hard and with a lot of dedication.

Her husband Iván Rondón expressed that professional hairdressing emerged with more strength in the 60s lead by enterprising women who sought to become professionals in the field, as was the case of his wife Daisy Castillo. He highlighted how his wife for more than 45 years has dedicated herself to represent the country in events in the Americas and Europe, placing the country in a high position. He credited his wife with changing the image and mentality in clients and owners of beauty salons with whom she shared what she had learned in the best techniques in haircuts and hairstyles.
